The Rove bonuses

Rove lets members earn transferable miles without a credit card. It launched three bonuses on October 1:

  • JAL, 50%: Rove notes that JAL's dynamic award pricing from the US to Japan starts at 27,000 miles in economy and 55,000 in business, one way, plus taxes, fees and surcharges. The Points Guy calculated that with the bonus, that's about 18,000 Rove miles for economy and 36,700 for business. Rove allows transfers in 100-mile increments, with a 2,000-mile minimum.
  • Flying Blue, 40%: Rove's example is a Phoenix–Paris award for 25,000 Flying Blue miles, or 17,900 Rove miles with the bonus.
  • Qatar, up to 35%: Transfers under 50,000 miles get 15%. Transfers of 50,000–99,999 get 25%, and 100,000 or more get 35%. The Points Guy notes that off-peak Qsuite business awards from the US to Doha start at 70,000 Avios one way.

Flying Blue has bonuses from three programs

Amex (25%), Capital One (20%) and Rove (40%) all ran Flying Blue bonuses this month. TravelPointsPro calculated that, with October promo awards, one-way transatlantic business class was available for 36,000 Amex points. Roame posted 48,000-point Air France business awards from New York and Chicago to Paris in January 2027 under the 25% bonus. Availability changes, so check before transferring.

Most of the advice was about being careful. "Transfers are final. Decide the trip first," Flightpoints wrote. AwardHack put it more directly: "Do not transfer without confirmed award space."

The Points Frog take

A transfer bonus only helps if you have a specific award to book. Find the seat first, confirm it can be booked, and then transfer. If you've been looking at Japan this winter, a 50% bonus to JAL is uncommon, and it ends Saturday night.
