What a points value means
Our catalog records estimated redemption purchasing power in US cents per reward unit. A balance multiplied by the estimate and divided by 100 gives a dollar equivalent. It is a comparison tool, not a cash payout or a promise that an award will be available at that value.
Compare the actual reward
Subtract award taxes and fees from the comparable cash price, divide by the points required, and multiply by 100. Compare like-for-like travel, including cancellation terms. A program’s rules and the award you choose determine the result.
Historical observations and devaluations
A chart baseline records the current estimate on the date it was observed. It does not reconstruct an earlier value. Historical entries carry dates, sources, and notes. A change in an editorial estimate can reflect methodology or exchange rates; red devaluation markers are reserved for sourced changes in a program’s reward terms.
News and sources
Our own stories show a byline and publication date and link to their sources. Relevant sister-site coverage appears as headline and summary links to the original publisher. Transfer bonus coverage is news: always check the offer dates, eligibility, and current terms before transferring points.
