American Express cardholders in the UK can get 40% more Hilton Honors points when they move Membership Rewards points across before November 24. The offer is listed on Amex UK's Hilton Honors transfer page, and no sign-up is needed.
According to the terms on that page, eligible transfers run from September 29 to November 24, 2026. The standard rate is one Membership Rewards point to two Hilton Honors points. With the bonus, each point becomes 2.8 Hilton points.
How the numbers work
The math is easy to check before you move anything. Here are a few examples at the bonus rate:
- 10,000 Membership Rewards points become 28,000 Hilton Honors points.
- 25,000 points become 70,000 Hilton Honors points.
- 50,000 points become 140,000 Hilton Honors points.
To work backward from a hotel night, divide the Hilton points you need by 2.8. A stay priced at 70,000 Hilton points needs 25,000 Membership Rewards points with the bonus. At the normal rate it would need 35,000. That is 10,000 points saved on one booking.
Amex sets a few rules. The smallest transfer is 200 points and the largest is 499,950 points, in steps of 50. Your Membership Rewards account must be linked to a Hilton Honors account first. The base points usually arrive within five business days. The 40% bonus is paid on its own and can take up to 20 business days, so do not panic if the two parts land at different times.
Transfers are final. Once the points reach Hilton, they cannot go back to Amex. The card accounts linked to your Membership Rewards account also need to be in good standing, with nothing canceled or past due.
Who should use it
This bonus makes the most sense if you already have a Hilton stay in mind. Hilton prices reward nights by hotel and date, so the cost can move a lot between a quiet Tuesday and a busy weekend. Search for your dates in the Hilton app first. Note the points price, then move only what you need.
It also helps to compare the hotel with airline options. Membership Rewards points can go to several airline programs. A UK cardholder who flies a lot may get more from an airline transfer than from a hotel night. Hilton points tend to buy less per point than airline miles, which is why a big bonus matters here. Without it, the transfer is often a weak use of points.
If you plan to stay at a Hilton hotel this winter, there is a second reason to act. Hilton's own fall offer, More Points to Play, pays bonus points on stays that check out between October 15 and December 31, 2026. That bonus comes from Hilton, not Amex, so it does not change the transfer rate. It does make a Hilton stay in this window a little more rewarding.
Where this fits
Points Frog tracks offers like this one on its transfer bonus page. You can see how we value Membership Rewards on our Membership Rewards page, which is built around the US program. UK readers should check the rates shown in their own account, since programs differ by country.
This is a UK offer. The American Express site for the UK is the one that lists it. If you hold a US card, check your own account before assuming the same bonus applies.
My take
I would use this only for a Hilton stay I can book today. A 40% bonus turns a poor transfer into a fair one, but it does not make Hilton points worth more than a good flight. Price the room first, then move the exact amount in one go.
