American Express has added a coworking benefit to its top business cards. As of October 22, eligible US Card Members with The Business Platinum Card from American Express or the American Express Corporate Platinum Card can get a complimentary ZO membership from Tishman Speyer. The membership comes with lounge-style workspace access, monthly coworking passes and up to $500 a year in statement credits.

What the membership includes

According to The Points Guy and Doctor of Credit, eligible Card Members get:

  • Unlimited access to participating ZO Clubhouses, which are lounges for working, meeting or taking a break
  • Four Clubhouse guest day passes per week
  • Four Studio coworking day passes per month, with shared desks, meeting rooms, Wi-Fi, and coffee and tea
  • Up to $500 per calendar year in statement credits toward event space bookings at ZO or Studio locations, or toward a ZO Dining Club membership, when paid with an eligible card

Studio visits must be reserved ahead of time online or in the ZO app. Membership does not cover everything. The Points Guy notes that dining, private spaces and some experiences cost extra.

Where you can use it

The Points Guy reports more than 25 participating Clubhouse and Studio spaces in six US cities:

  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Los Angeles
  • New York City
  • San Francisco
  • Washington, D.C.

One standout is The Spiral at Hudson Yards in Manhattan. The Points Guy says its Clubhouse sits on the 66th floor, with dining from Café Llama, and a Studio occupies lower floors of the same building.

How to activate

You do not need to enroll through American Express. Instead, activate your ZO membership on the ZO website or in the ZO app before your first visit. The Points Guy says the dedicated Card Member site and app show participating locations and explain how to use the statement credit.

What it is worth

The value depends on how often you need a place to work. The Points Guy found Studio day passes listed for $50 before tax at several locations. Using all four monthly passes at that price would be worth about $200 a month, but only if you would have paid for coworking anyway.

The $500 credit is harder to use. ZO event spaces start at $1,500 per hour, according to The Points Guy, so the credit only offsets part of a booking. ZO does not publish a standalone price for its Dining Club membership. The credit is also not a general dining credit, so it will not cover lunch during a Clubhouse visit.

Not the card's first coworking perk

Business Platinum has tried this before. The card offered a complimentary WeWork membership starting in 2019, and that access ended in 2020. The ZO deal brings coworking back, but with a smaller footprint and different rules.

Other Business Platinum changes ahead

This benefit arrives as Amex adjusts other parts of the card. CreditOdds reports that starting February 17, 2027, the card's $10 monthly wireless credit will be limited to a set list of carriers. It also reports that the extra points on US shipping purchases will apply only to named shipping companies. If you lean on those perks, check the updated terms on your account.

What people are saying on X

American Express promoted the new benefit on its own X account, and points accounts quickly shared the news:

The Points Frog take

For Business Platinum members who live or work in one of the six cities, this is a genuinely useful perk. Four Studio days a month plus unlimited Clubhouse access can replace a paid coworking plan for many freelancers and small teams. It can also give you a place to work between a hotel checkout and an evening flight. Outside those cities, the benefit adds little. Treat the $500 credit as a bonus, not a reason to keep the card, unless you already plan to book ZO event space.
