Hyatt has moved Impression Isla Mujeres into The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. The 123-suite resort sits on the southern tip of Isla Mujeres, just off Cancún, and stays adults-only and all-inclusive, according to Hyatt's Nov. 2, 2026, press release.

The resort opened in 2023 under the Impression by Secrets brand. It now joins Hyatt's collection of independent hotels, which turns 10 this year.

What stays the same

Hyatt says the resort "will continue to operate as an adults-only, all-inclusive resort." Guests will still get Endless Privileges, the set of luxury inclusions Hyatt offers at select all-inclusive resorts.

The resort's existing services, amenities and experiences stay in place, the release says. Bookings run through hyatt.com.

What the resort offers

From Hyatt's release:

  • 123 suites, all with private terraces, many facing the Caribbean Sea
  • Infinity pools and private Mayan soaking tubs
  • Seven restaurants serving Italian, pan-Asian, Mexican and Mediterranean menus, plus grilled dishes
  • Five bars and lounges, including swim-up and rooftop options
  • Wellness spaces with yoga hammocks, wellness cabanas and TRX equipment

Hyatt says the resort's sheltered setting at Punta Sur is "seldom affected by sargassum." That is a real plus on a coast where seaweed can spoil beach days.

The resort also works with the nonprofit Saving Our Sharks Foundation. Since opening, it has given a share of room revenue to the group and hosted guest snorkeling and shark-tagging trips.

What it costs in points

The release does not mention award prices. Upgraded Points reports that the resort is Category F on Hyatt's all-inclusive award chart, at 45,000 to 85,000 World of Hyatt points per night for two people.

All-inclusive award nights at Hyatt cover meals and drinks, so the points price includes more than just a room. Check hyatt.com for your dates, since pricing changes between off-peak, standard and peak nights.

Why the brand change matters

Hyatt lists Unbound in its Luxury Portfolio, alongside brands like Park Hyatt and Alila. Most Unbound hotels are independent city hotels and resorts. A BoardingArea post on X described Impression Isla Mujeres as the first all-inclusive resort in the collection.

"As we celebrate 10 years of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, I'm thrilled to welcome a resort that captures that spirit of individuality so beautifully," said Tamara Lohan, Hyatt's global brand leader for luxury.

Mourad Essafi, the resort's general manager, said joining Unbound "recognizes the individuality we've sought to create."

Upgraded Points notes that Hyatt has another Impression property, Impression Moxché by Secrets in Playa del Carmen. It says nothing has been announced for that resort, so treat any rebrand there as speculation for now.

Other Unbound news

Hyatt listed recent Unbound additions, including THE BARAI HUA HIN in Thailand, Hôtel Palais de la Méditerranée in Nice, The Georgian in Santa Monica, Hotel 1000 in Seattle and The Clayfield in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Casa Duhau in Mendoza, Argentina, is expected to join in late 2027.

Our take

For World of Hyatt members, this is mostly a name change. The resort stays all-inclusive with Endless Privileges, and Upgraded Points lists it on Hyatt's all-inclusive award chart.

The draw is the resort itself. An adults-only, all-inclusive stay on Isla Mujeres with little sargassum is a strong use of Hyatt points for couples, especially if you can find off-peak dates.
