Preferred Hotels & Resorts just had its biggest quarter for new hotels since 2024. To mark it, the brand's loyalty program, I Prefer Hotel Rewards, is offering 2,500 bonus points on eligible stays at participating new members.

Preferred announced the news on Oct. 27, 2026. It said 28 hotels joined its portfolio between July 1 and Sept. 30, 2026.

The bonus offer

Here is what the press release says about the promotion:

  • New and existing I Prefer members can earn 2,500 bonus points on eligible stays at participating new member hotels.
  • The offer is valid on bookings made by Dec. 31, 2026.
  • Details and booking are at IPrefer.com/offer/newest-additions.

One detail needs care. The release says the offer is for "stays through March 31, 2026." That date is already in the past, so it may be a typo. Check the stay dates on the I Prefer offer page before you book. Don't assume a 2027 date until the terms say so.

Also note that not every new hotel is in the loyalty program. The release says "many" of the new members participate in I Prefer. Confirm that your hotel takes part before you count on the bonus.

The headline hotels

Preferred picked out six new members as highlights:

  • UMusic Hotel Madrid in Spain. It has 130 rooms and suites and connects directly to the 898-seat Albéniz Theater.
  • Palazzo Trezza in Verona, Italy. It is a restored Renaissance residence with 11 suites. It opened in spring 2026.
  • Diamonds Thudufushi in the Maldives. It is an all-inclusive private-island resort with 69 beach and overwater villas in South Ari Atoll.
  • Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club in Durham, North Carolina. It has 271 rooms on Duke University's campus and sits next to an 18-hole championship course.
  • THE FUJIYA HOTEL in Hakone, Japan. It opened in 1878 as Japan's first resort hotel. Its 120 rooms all have hot spring water in the bathtub.
  • HOTEL BANOV TOWNSCAPE WUHAN in China. It has 45 rooms in a restored landmark from 1910.

The rest of the list

The other new members span four continents. A few that may catch points fans' eyes:

  • Nobu Hotel Los Cabos in Mexico
  • The Stelle at Deer Valley East in Utah
  • Wymara Resort + Villas in Turks and Caicos
  • St. Helen's Hotel in Dublin
  • Hôtel California Paris
  • The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary in India
  • BLESS Barcelona and Bless Ibiza The Site in Spain
  • Palais Jamai in Fès, Morocco

The full list also includes hotels in Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, Brazil, Austria, Germany, Indonesia and China.

What the CEO said

Lindsey Ueberroth, the CEO of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, called it a turning point. "Welcoming 28 new members in a single quarter, our largest quarterly addition since 2024, marks an important milestone in the continued growth of Preferred Hotels & Resorts," she said.

How I Prefer points work

I Prefer is free to join. The release says it has more than 6 million members and over 700 participating hotels. Points turn into cash-value Reward Certificates, which you can use at participating hotels. Members can also work toward Titanium status.

That cash-value model makes a fixed bonus easy to judge. You don't need to hunt for a sweet spot award. Check how many points a Reward Certificate needs in your account, and you will know what 2,500 points is worth to you.
