Hilton's Curio Collection now has a resort in Hawaiʻi. Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi, Curio Collection by Hilton, opened on September 30, 2026, according to Hilton's announcement. It is the brand's first property in the state.
The resort takes part in Hilton Honors, so members can earn points on paid stays and use points to book. Hilton's release does not list a points price for a night.
What is there
Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi has 210 rooms, including 23 suites. It sits inside the Hōkūala Resort community on Kauaʻi. It looks over Nāwiliwili Bay and Kalapakī Beach, and it is close to Līhuʻe Airport. That makes it an easy first or last night for a Kauaʻi trip.
Hilton says the resort was designed by Hart Howerton and AHL, with interiors by Looney & Associates. The owner, Silverwest Hotels, began planning it in 2018.
There are two places to eat. Figueira is a Portuguese-Hawaiian restaurant, which Hilton calls the only one of its kind on Kauaʻi. The Wiliwili is a casual spot by the pool. Executive Chef Hans Lentz and Director of Food and Beverage Romina Migliorini lead the food program.
The resort also has:
- A pool, a fitness center and a full-service spa.
- Tennis and pickleball courts.
- Preferred tee times at the Jack Nicklaus Signature Ocean Course.
- More than five miles of trails and free bicycles.
- The Farm at Hōkūala.
- More than 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space.
A cultural program called E Ala Ka Pilina, or "The Awakening of Connection," has the Kauaʻi Museum as its first partner.
"The opening of Hale Hōkūala Kauaʻi marks an exciting milestone as we introduce Curio Collection by Hilton to Hawaiʻi," said Danny Hughes, Hilton's president for the Americas.
Points or cash
Hilton prices Standard Room Rewards by date, so the points price can move a lot from one week to the next. Check a few dates in the Hilton app before you settle on a plan.
The cash side has an opening deal. Hilton's release describes a Kauaʻi Island Escape package with 25% off the best available rate for stays of three nights or more. Compare that rate with the points price for the same nights. If the cash rate is low, paying cash and earning points may beat spending them.
Hilton Honors elite members who book on points may also get the fifth night free on longer stays. That benefit has its own rules, which we cover in the related reading below. And if you pay cash, remember to book through Hilton directly so the stay earns points and counts toward status.
Getting there on miles
Līhuʻe is served by several US airlines, so a Kauaʻi trip can often be pieced together with airline miles too. Our program directory can help you compare what a flight and a hotel night cost in each currency before you decide which balance to spend.
My take
I like that this resort is close to the airport and has real things to do on site. That makes it a good fit for a short points stay at the start or end of a longer island trip. I would price it on points and cash for the exact dates, and book the cheaper option.
