Emirates Skywards is paying members for time spent in Dubai again. The Mile-A-Minute offer is back for 2026. Eligible members earn one bonus Skywards Mile for every minute they spend in Dubai, up to 7,200 miles.
Emirates announced the return on Oct. 22, 2026. The window to sign up and book is short. You must register and book by Nov. 5, 2026.
How the offer works
The math is simple. One minute in Dubai equals one bonus mile. The cap is 7,200 miles, which works out to five full days in the city.
Here are the key rules from Emirates' release:
- Register by Nov. 5, 2026. You must sign up for the offer first.
- Book between Oct. 21 and Nov. 5, 2026. The booking must be an eligible return ticket on Emirates or flydubai.
- Start outside the UAE. The trip has to originate outside the United Arab Emirates.
- Travel between Oct. 21 and Dec. 13, 2026.
- Stay at least 24 hours. The maximum stay is 30 days.
- Live outside the UAE. The offer is for Skywards members who reside outside the country.
Emirates says all cabin classes and fare types count. So an economy saver ticket earns the same per-minute bonus as first class.
What 7,200 miles gets you
On their own, 7,200 miles will not cover a long-haul award. But they can top off a balance. They can also help you reach an upgrade or a partner award you are close to.
Think of it as a stopover bonus. If you already plan to fly through Dubai, adding a few days on the ground now earns real miles. Five days in Dubai earns the full 7,200. Two days earns 2,880. A 24-hour stay, the shortest that qualifies, earns 1,440.
A returning favorite
This is not a new idea. Emirates first introduced Mile-A-Minute in 2021, during Expo 2020 Dubai. The airline calls it a popular offer, and it chose to bring it back for the busy winter travel season.
Reaction on X
Points accounts around the world shared the news after Emirates posted it.
One points company summed up its reading of the rules on X. It said a paid round trip is required and that awards and one-way tickets do not count. Emirates' release refers to an "eligible return" booking, so check the full terms on Emirates' site before you rely on any of those details.
Who should jump on this
The deadline makes this offer best for people who already have a Dubai trip in mind. A few cases where it fits well:
- You are flying to Asia, Africa or Australia via Dubai and can add a stopover.
- You planned a winter holiday in the UAE and have not booked yet.
- You want a short city break and can travel by mid-December.
It is a poor fit if you live in the UAE, since residents cannot take part. It also does not work if your trip starts in the UAE.
What to do now
Register first, then book. The order matters, because the booking must fall in the offer window. Book an eligible return trip on Emirates or flydubai by Nov. 5. Fly by Dec. 13. Stay at least a full day, and up to five days to max out the bonus.
Keep your booking confirmation and your Skywards number handy. If the bonus does not post, you will want proof that you met each rule.
