Citi AAdvantage Business card offers 75,000 miles, with Loyalty Points on employee spending
The bonus takes $5,000 in purchases in five months, and the first year has no annual fee before the card's fee rises to $150 in January 2027.

The Citi / AAdvantage Business World Elite Mastercard now offers 75,000 American Airlines AAdvantage bonus miles. You earn them after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first five months of opening the account.
That is up from 65,000 miles, according to the card-tracking account CreditOdds, which flagged the change on X on Nov. 2. One Mile at a Time and DansDeals both describe the new offer as limited time, and Citi has not posted an end date that we could find.
The offer at a glance
According to American's card page and Citi's card page:
- Bonus: 75,000 AAdvantage bonus miles after $5,000 in purchases within the first five months
- Annual fee: $0 intro annual fee for the first year, then $99
- Purchase APR: 19.74% to 28.74% variable
- Foreign transaction fees: none
- Eligibility: not available if you received a new account bonus for this card in the past 48 months
The Points Guy calls this the card's highest-ever offer. Frequent Miler says it is a 10,000-mile increase and matches the best offer it has seen on this card.
What you earn
The card earns 2 miles per dollar on eligible American Airlines purchases, car rentals, gas stations, and telecom and cable providers, plus 1 mile per dollar on other purchases.
The bigger story for many people is status. Each mile you earn from card spending also counts as a Loyalty Point toward AAdvantage elite status. Citi's press release says that through Dec. 31, 2028, the primary cardmember also earns 1 extra Loyalty Point for every $1 that employee cardmembers spend. The employee earns Loyalty Points on that spending too.
That is why One Mile at a Time calls it a chance to "double dip" Loyalty Points. A business owner and an employee can both move toward status on the same spending.
Other perks
Citi lists these benefits on the card today:
- A $99 American Airlines companion certificate after you spend $30,000 in a cardmembership year and renew the card
- First checked bag free for the cardmember and up to four companions on the same reservation
- No foreign transaction fees
Changes coming in January 2027
We covered the card's refresh when Citi announced it in October. Here is the short version.
Citi says the annual fee goes up to $150 on Jan. 24, 2027. Starting then, the card adds:
- 3 miles per dollar on AAdvantage Hotels and AAdvantage Cars bookings
- 2 miles per dollar in one category you choose: US shipping, office supply stores or US advertising
- Up to a $120 statement credit for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck
- Up to $100 a year in inflight purchase credits
If you apply now, the first year has no annual fee. After that, plan on the higher fee.
Who should consider it
This offer fits small business owners who fly American and want both miles and a faster path to status. The 75,000 miles alone are a strong haul for $5,000 in spending. The employee card Loyalty Point bonus makes it more useful for a business with a few people who put spending on cards.
Keep in mind that this is a business card. Citi also says you can't get the bonus if you earned a bonus on this card in the past 48 months.
The Points Frog take
This is one of the better business card offers around right now. The bonus is at its best level, there's no fee the first year, and the Loyalty Point boost for employee spending runs through 2028. If you were waiting for a better time to open this card, this is it. Just weigh the $150 fee that starts in 2027 before you hold it for the long term.
