Best Western Rewards is going away as a name. BWH Hotels announced on Oct. 27, 2026, that it is uniting its global portfolio under the WorldHotels name. Its loyalty programs will merge into a single program called WorldHotels Rewards.

The combined program launches on Jan. 5, 2027.

What BWH announced

According to the company's press release, the portfolio spans more than 4,000 hotels across 18 brands in 100 countries. The company will now operate as WorldHotels.

The loyalty change is the part most travelers will notice. WorldHotels Rewards will bring together Best Western Rewards and the existing WorldHotels Rewards program. The company says the combined program will have 70 million members.

What stays the same for members

The release says WorldHotels Rewards will keep several features members already know:

  • Status matching
  • Member rates
  • Points that never expire

Members will also keep the value of the points they already have. The release says they will get more chances to earn points across the wider portfolio, too. The company says the new program will have three streamlined tiers. It did not publish the tier names, thresholds or benefits in the release. More details are due on Nov. 16, 2026.

Hotels keep their brand names

The release says individual property identities, signage and flags will remain unchanged. A Best Western Plus will still look like a Best Western Plus when you arrive.

What changes is how you book and earn. The company is launching a new website and app under the WorldHotels name.

The portfolio includes these brands, according to the release:

  • WorldHotels Collection, WorldHotels Backdrop and Aiden
  • Best Western Premier and BW Premier Collection
  • BW Signature Collection, Best Western Plus, GLō and Best Western
  • SureStay Hotels and SureStay Collection
  • Executive Residency, @HOME by Best Western and SureStay Studio

The WorldHotels Collection will be organized into six categories: Luxury, Elite, Distinctive, Crafted, Backdrop and Residences.

What executives said

"We have a hotel for virtually every travel occasion, but many travelers only know a portion of our portfolio," said Larry Cuculic, president and CEO of WorldHotels, in the release. "WorldHotels gives us a clearer way to tell our story."

Joelle Park, chief marketing officer, and Ron Pohl, president of WorldHotels Collection, are also quoted in the release.

What this means for you

For most Best Western Rewards members, the short-term impact looks small. Your points are not expiring, and the company says their value carries over. You do not need to do anything today.

The key unknown is the new three-tier structure. The release says current benefits are protected, but it does not say how today's elite levels will map to the new tiers. That mapping will decide where you land and what perks you get. Members with mid-tier status should watch the Nov. 16 announcement closely.

Status matching is worth noting, too. The company says it will keep offering status matches. That could make WorldHotels Rewards an easy add-on for travelers with status at a bigger chain.

If you earn or redeem through any partner, such as a co-branded card, check for updates after the switch. The release does not address partners, so look for details in November.
