American Express Membership Rewards has a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club through Nov. 30, 2026. Every 1,000 Membership Rewards points you move becomes 1,300 Virgin Points.

Amex shows this offer inside the Membership Rewards site, not on a public press page. Frequent Miler quoted the offer terms: "Redeem for this exclusive offer from 12:00 a.m. MST on 11/2/2026 to 11:59 p.m. MST on 11/30/2026, to receive 30% additional Virgin Points."

The key terms

As quoted by Frequent Miler and AwardWallet:

  • The bonus runs from Nov. 2 to Nov. 30, 2026, ending at 11:59 p.m. MST.
  • The minimum transfer is 1,000 Membership Rewards points.
  • The bonus Virgin Points can take up to 72 hours to show up in your Flying Club account.
  • AwardWallet reports that a single transfer, including the bonus, can't go over 999,999 Virgin Points.

Transfers move in 1,000-point steps, so here is what the math looks like:

What you can book

Frequent Miler points to Virgin Atlantic's own flights between the US and the UK:

  • Economy saver awards from 6,000 Virgin Points, with a fair amount of taxes and fees
  • Premium economy from 10,500 points one way
  • Upper Class from 35,000 points one way on select dates and routes, which takes about 27,000 Membership Rewards points with the bonus

Frequent Miler notes that these awards come with real taxes and fees, and calls the fees on Upper Class "very high."

Virgin Points are also useful on partners. Upgraded Points calls ANA business and first class "perhaps the best use of Virgin Points." It says one-way ANA business class usually starts at 45,000 Virgin Points from the West Coast and 47,500 from the East Coast, with first class at 72,500 and 85,000.

With the 30% bonus, Upgraded Points lists these approximate Amex point costs for one-way ANA flights:

RouteBusinessFirst
Honolulu to Tokyo Haneda27,00045,000
New York JFK to Tokyo Haneda37,00066,000
San Francisco to Tokyo Haneda35,00056,000

ANA award space can be hard to find, so check for seats before you move any points.

How this compares

This is not the first Amex bonus to Virgin this year. Frequent Miler says Amex last ran a 30% bonus to Virgin Atlantic in July 2026.

Capital One also has a 30% bonus to Virgin Atlantic running now. If you hold points in both programs, you can pick whichever balance you'd rather spend.

Tips before you transfer

  • Find award space first. Search on the Virgin Atlantic site for the exact flight you want, and only then move points.
  • Transfer only what you need. Points in Membership Rewards stay flexible. Once they move to Virgin, they stay there.
  • Watch the fees. Virgin Atlantic awards on its own flights can carry large taxes and fees, so price the cash part too.
  • Allow time for the bonus. The terms say the bonus can take up to 72 hours to post.

Our take

A 30% bonus to Virgin Atlantic is one of the better Amex transfer deals when it comes around. Upper Class to London and ANA business or first class to Tokyo are both great uses of Virgin Points, and the bonus cuts the cost of each by nearly a quarter.

If you don't have a trip in mind, you don't need to rush. Bonuses to Virgin have shown up more than once this year.
