In Sweden, the [SAS EuroBonus Amex Elite](https://www.americanexpress.com/se/kreditkort/sas-eurobonus-elite/) pays 60,000 EuroBonus points to new cardholders who apply by November 3, 2026. In Norway, the [SAS Amex Elite](https://www.americanexpress.com/nb-no/kredittkort/sas-elite/) pays 80,000. The standard Elite bonus in September was 30,000, so Sweden's offer doubles it and Norway's nearly triples it. The Premium and Classic cards carry smaller anniversary bonuses on the same deadline: 18,000 and 5,000 points in Sweden, 40,000 and 5,000 in Norway.\n\nOnly people who have not held an Amex card or supplementary card in the past 12 months qualify.\n\n## Sweden: no target, but a long wait\n\nThe Swedish offer has no spending requirement, which is unusual. The catch is timing. You must use the card every month, and the points pay out in two halves: 30,000 after a purchase in month seven and 30,000 after a purchase in month thirteen, with the card still open at each point. The Elite costs 575 kronor a month, raised from 500 in January, so by the time the full bonus lands you have paid about 7,475 kronor in fees. Our [EuroBonus calculator](https://www.pointsfrog.com/points-value/eurobonus) values a point at about 1.1 US cents, which makes 60,000 points worth roughly 6,200 kronor. The bonus roughly pays for the first year of fees; the card's other benefits, 20 Bonus and 6 Level points per 100 kronor, a two-for-one flight voucher at 150,000 kronor of annual spending and three Member Invites a year, have to justify keeping it.\n\n## Norway: a target, paid at once\n\nNorway's version pays the full 80,000 once you spend 90,000 kroner in the first nine months, with the card active. The fee is also 575 kroner a month. At the same valuation, 80,000 points are worth about 8,800 kroner against 5,175 kroner in fees over nine months, which is a better trade than Sweden's as long as the spending is money you would have put on a card anyway. Norway's card offers the same earning rates and two-for-one voucher structure.\n\n## The Classic card is no longer free\n\nThe quieter change is on the entry-level card. From November 1, 2026, the SAS Amex Classic charges 30 kronor a month in both [Sweden](https://www.americanexpress.com/se/kreditkort/sas-eurobonus-classic/) and [Norway](https://www.americanexpress.com/nb-no/kredittkort/sas-classic/), where it has been free. That is 360 kronor a year for a card earning 10 points per 100 kronor and a Europe two-for-one voucher at 100,000 kronor of spending. Sweden also keeps a 200-kronor inactivity fee after 12 months unused. For a cardholder who spends little on it, the Classic is now a card to cancel or upgrade; Amex raised Elite and Premium fees in January and, in Norway, is raising Platinum fees on the same November 1 date.\n\n## The EuroBonus side\n\nThe bonuses arrive in a good month for the program. EuroBonus picked up two Frequent Traveler Awards on October 12 and reopened its paid status match to elites of 84 airlines, which we covered in [our status match piece](https://www.pointsfrog.com/news/sas-eurobonus-paid-status-match-84-airlines-silver-gold-diamond-october-2026). A matched Gold plus an Elite card's two-for-one voucher is a reasonable package for a Scandinavian flyer. For anyone else, 60,000 or 80,000 EuroBonus points buy SkyTeam awards at prices that are fair rather than exceptional, and the fee commitment is the part to read twice.","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"}]}
