This one comes from the airline. Qatar Airways Privilege Club is running a [Global Points Exchange promotion](https://www.qatarairways.com/en-us/Privilege-Club/offers/global-points-exchange-october-2026.html) from October 1 to October 31, 2026, that adds bonus Avios to any transfer from a participating partner. The partner list runs to roughly 30 programs. For US readers the ones that matter are Rove Miles and Citi ThankYou Rewards; for hotel collectors, World of Hyatt, IHG One Rewards, Accor ALL and Shangri-La Circle are all in.\n\nThe bonus is tiered by the size of each transfer. Under 50,000 Avios earns 15%. From 50,000 to 99,999 earns 25%. A transfer of 100,000 or more earns 35%, so 100,000 Rove miles become 135,000 Avios. Qatar's terms are explicit that the tier is calculated per transaction, not on the month's total; three transfers of 40,000 each earn 15% apiece, not 25% on the sum.\n\n## The window and the credit date\n\nThe promotion runs from midnight on October 1 to 23:59 on October 31, Doha time, which is 4:59 p.m. Eastern on the last day. Transfers made after that moment earn nothing extra, and there is no registration or promo code. The bonus Avios post separately from the base transfer, and Qatar promises them by November 30. Conversions are final once credited, and the base ratio is whatever your partner program normally gives.\n\nFor Rove, the base ratio to Qatar is 1:1, and Rove is also running its own flat bonuses this month: 50% to Japan Airlines and 40% to Flying Blue, which we covered in [our Rove piece](https://www.pointsfrog.com/news/rove-miles-jal-50-percent-flying-blue-40-percent-transfer-bonus-october-2026). Citi transfers at 1:1 from its annual-fee cards. Hyatt and IHG transfer at their usual poor hotel-to-airline ratios, so the bonus rarely rescues those; it is a sweetener for someone who was going to convert anyway.\n\n## What 135,000 Avios buys\n\nQatar prices its own flights on a distance-based chart, and Avios move at 1:1 to British Airways Club, Iberia Plus, Finnair Plus and Aer Lingus AerClub, so the currency is flexible. The Points Guy's example is an off-peak one-way Qsuite seat from the US to Doha from 70,000 Avios, which at the 25% tier costs about 56,000 Rove miles. Our [Privilege Club calculator](https://www.pointsfrog.com/points-value/privilege-club) values an Avios at about 1.3 cents, so a 35% bonus on a transfer you were already making is real money. On a 100,000-point transfer it is 35,000 Avios, worth roughly $455 at that rate.\n\nThe catch is that 100,000 points is a lot to commit to one program in one transaction. Avios do not expire as long as the account has activity every 36 months, so the risk is not loss but opportunity: those points cannot go to Hyatt or Flying Blue later. Only move that much if you have a redemption, or two, in mind.\n\n## How it stacks with Citi's own bonus\n\nCiti's own promotions this month go to JAL and Avianca, not Qatar, as [our Citi piece](https://www.pointsfrog.com/news/citi-thankyou-jal-30-percent-avianca-25-percent-transfer-bonus-october-24-2026) explains. So a Citi member choosing between programs has a 30% bonus to JAL ending October 24 and a 15% to 35% bonus to Qatar ending October 31, with the Qatar bonus reaching 35% only at the 100,000 level. For a single premium-cabin ticket, JAL is usually the better chart. For Avios to spend across five airlines, Qatar is the one.\n\n## Before you transfer\n\nConfirm the award seat exists, decide the transfer size with the tiers in mind, and send it in one transaction before the Doha deadline. Then screenshot the confirmation. The bonus is promised by November 30, and a clean record is what you will need if it does not show up.","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"}]}
