Marriott Bonvoy's targeted 55% buy-points bonus runs through November 23, 2026. The sale opened on September 29. Marriott's list price is $12.50 per 1,000 points, so 2,000 points at the full bonus cost $25 and deliver 3,100, which is 0.81 cents per point. Purchases of only 1,000 points earn no bonus.\n\nThe bonus is targeted. Most members who have written about it, including [MileLion](https://milelion.com/2026/09/30/marriott-bonvoy-offering-upsized-55-bonus-on-points-purchases/) and [Traveling for Miles](https://travelingformiles.com/deal-buy-marriott-points-from-0-81-cents-each/), see 55%, but offers from 20% upward have been reported, and Marriott's terms say the percentage depends on the quantity available. The price per point at each tier is worth knowing: 50% is 0.83 cents, 45% is 0.86, 40% is 0.89, 30% is 0.96 and 25% is a full cent. Anything below 50% is not much of a sale.\n\nThe annual purchase cap has been raised to 200,000 base points for the promotion. Bonus points do not count against it, so the most you can buy is 310,000 points for $2,500. Points post within 72 hours, purchases are final, and members who joined within the last 30 days cannot buy yet. Points.com handles the transaction, so it will not code as a hotel charge on your card. Marriott separately lets you buy up to 100,000 more points while booking a stay on its site; whether the bonus applies there is not confirmed.\n\n## Why 55% is notable\n\nMarriott's routine sales pay 35% to 50%. The last time the bonus reached 60% was November 2020, when the pandemic had emptied hotels, so 55% is the best offer in almost six years. The last two Black Friday sales did not beat the autumn offer that preceded them, which is why the [buy points page](https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/redeem/buy-points.mi) is getting attention now rather than in a month.\n\n## The math, honestly\n\nAt 0.81 cents, buying Bonvoy points is close to break-even. Most valuations put a Marriott point between 0.7 and 0.85 cents, and Marriott's move to dynamic award pricing means the cash rate and the points price at a given hotel usually track each other. Buying 310,000 points to hold for a vague future trip is a way to lose money slowly.\n\nThe purchases that make sense are specific. A fifth-night-free award stay where you are a few thousand points short. A resort on a date where the cash rate has spiked but the points rate has not. A Free Night Award that needs a top-up, which Marriott now allows up to 25,000 points, as we explained in [our Free Night Award piece](https://www.pointsfrog.com/news/marriott-free-night-awards-the-top-up-limit-is-now-25-000-points). In each of those cases, price the stay in cash, divide by the points needed, and buy only if the result is comfortably above 0.81 cents.\n\n## Compared with Hilton\n\nHilton is running a 120% bonus on purchased points through November 21, which prices Hilton points at 0.45 cents and is Hilton's best sale ever, as we cover in [our Hilton piece](https://www.pointsfrog.com/news/hilton-honors-buy-points-120-percent-bonus-november-21-2026). The programs are not comparable point for point, since Hilton awards cost about three times as many points, but relative to each program's own history, Hilton's offer is the bigger discount. Marriott's is the one to use if your stay is at a Marriott.\n\n## Check your offer\n\nLog in to the buy points page and look at the bonus you are shown before you plan anything. If it says 55%, and you have a redemption that clears the bar, buy exactly what the booking needs before November 23. If it says 30%, close the tab.","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"}]}
